My maiden name is Adkins and my paternal grandmother, Nettye Elizabeth Appling Adkins was a great  contributor and correspondent with Camden Borah Meyer, who researched and compiled Bohrer-Borah- Borer. He gathered this information with the help of some of his family members and compiled this  data from 1956 - 1965. I have two of these books, my grandmother's copy with her handwritten  updates and my father, Charles I Adkins' copy, who also handwrote updates in his book.

Camden Borah Meyer did most of the original painstaking research by visiting the original  locations, researching court records, and personal correspondence with numerous family members. It  is quite an accomplishment for the pre-computer days. I continue to be amazed at the accuracy of  his data, and often find data on various web sites much less accurate than the data he has  compiled. I have confirmed whenever possible his data, which has remained extremely accurate except  for minor date variations and variations in the spelling of some names.

I am attempting to place most of his data on this website and update and verify data as I enter it. 

Peter Bohrer arrived in America about 1750 on the ship Edinberg that embarked from Rotterdam,  Holland, and stopped at Potsmouth, England. The Edinberg arrived in Philadelphia, August 13, 1750.  Peter Borah(Bohren) was supposedly from the Palatine area of Germany.

I have also gathered and compiling information on the Thompson/Farr side of my family, which dates  back to the early settlements on the James River in Virginia, Farrar's Island. William Farrar  arrived in American on the "Neptune" in 1618 at the age of 25. His future wife, Cicely arrived with  her first husband, Mr. Baley, aboard "The Swan" in 1610.
