THe Adkins family is the Kentucky branch of the Borah family.
Much of the original research was done by Camden Borah Meyer from 1956 - 1965. 
He compiled most of the early data on this web site from painstaking research 
and personal trips to many of these sites. Quite an accomplishment for the 
precomputer days. He had a great correspondence with my paternal grandmother, 
Nettye Elizbeth Appling Adkins. 

Peter Bohrer arrived in America about 1750 on the ship Edinberg that embarked 
from Rotterdam, Holland, and stopped at Potsmouth, England. The Edinberg 
arrived in Philadelphia, August 13, 1750. Peter Borah(Bohren) was supposedly 
from the Palatine area of Germany.
